Rules for Working With Referrals

We're excited to have you working with us at Agent Pronto. Let's walk through how things work and a few “best practices” so together we can make home buyers and sellers happy (and make you a lot of money).

We Eliminate the Tire Kickers

Someone from Agent Pronto calls each referral as soon as possible after they ask for our help. Our phone conversation allows us to verify their information, make sure they are reasonably qualified, answer their questions, and prepare them to speak with you.

Here's Where You Come In

After we speak with each referral, we'll match them up with three agents who we think can best serve their needs. If we don't have three agents we're confident can help, we'll look for more. If you are matched with one of our referrals, we'll send you their information by email along with details from our conversation. (Note: Add the email address of your Agent Pronto contact to your address book to make sure our emails go to your inbox and not SPAM.) If you want to receive text message notifications for each referral, or have them sent to multiple email addresses for your staff, please let us know.

If you receive a referral and decide you're not the best agent to serve them, respond immediately and we'll find another agent who's a better fit. We'd rather you be upfront about your preferences than do a poor job following up. We only make money when our agents make money, so agents with a history of poor follow-up won't be working with us for long.

You Are The Agent

Many agents have a team who works together to help home buyers and sellers. This is often a win for everyone involved because you can provide better customer service while focusing on your core competencies. If you have support staff who can contact these referrals and help you give better service, please don't hesitate to involve them in our process.

However, we don't allow Agent Pronto referrals to be passed to other agents in your office to service from start to finish. We wanted you to work with us because of your real estate production and solid track record. If you have another agent in your office who is also interested in working with us, show them our website. For now, you should be the agent of record for every referral we send your way.

Call Them Now

Referrals have been proven to close at much higher rates if you contact them within the first few minutes, so act on each referral as soon as possible. Remember, you're competing against two other real estate agents for a high-quality referral—someone who's been vetted and is waiting to hear from you. The person who speaks with them first will be the one to set the tone.

If They Don't Answer

Don't call these referrals once and assume your job is done. You may need to call our referrals several times using both phone and email before you reach them. We did our best by asking them to respect your time, but some people are simply busy. (If you've tried to contact another busy agent, you know how hard it can be to connect).

If you leave them a voicemail, be sure to let them know you'll try again tomorrow. This isn't annoying; this is staying true to your word. We've spoken with referrals after a week or two who had been meaning to speak with agents but just didn't have the time. Often these are the best, highest dollar clients!

Set Up An Appointment

When speaking with referrals, the next step is usually a short meeting to see if you're a good fit together. It's easy to add a referral to your listing emails and communicate passively, but remember that two other agents will be speaking with them as well. The agent who's forward (without being pushy) will probably get the referral and the commission.

Communicate With Us

We'd like to hear about your experience with each referral, regardless of the outcome. If a referral signs to work with you, let us know right away. We will inform the other agents to no longer contact the referral. After this step in the process, you're largely on your own to do what you do best.

When It Goes To Pending

Success… nice work. If you have a home under contract, please let us know immediately. We need to update our records and get you the paperwork necessarily to submit a referral commission. There's more where that came from. Thanks for your hard work!
