May’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the city to be $335,000—down 14.37% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, county-level data pegged home values at $422,500 in Matanuska-Susitna Borough for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $423,750 in June.
Palmer had 9 new listings and 12 listings that went under contract in May, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 10—up 11.11% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in June.
Of those 10 active listings, 40.0% reduced their price in the month of May. The median listing price for homes in Palmer grew 35.55% from April to May, bringing the current median listing price to $459,500. Based on projected data for June, listing prices may continue to grow.
