Moving day can be both exciting and overwhelming. It's essential to have a plan in place and a checklist of items you need to have on hand to ensure a smooth move. Here is a list of some important items to have on (and leading up to) moving day:

Packing Supplies: Several weeks before the move, purchase the packing supplies you will need, including boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, and packing paper. Markers and labels are also helpful to label your boxes.

Cleaning Supplies: Although the home will likely be professionally cleaned, it’s nice to have cleaning supplies including a broom, mop, cleaning solution, and paper towels - just in case!

Basic Tools: You may need to disassemble furniture or make minor repairs on moving day. Basic tools like a screwdriver, hammer, pliers, and a wrench will come in handy.

Snacks and Water: Moving day can be long and exhausting, so make sure to have snacks and water on hand to keep you and your movers energized and hydrated.

Important Documents: Keep important documents, such as your lease or mortgage documents, identification, and insurance policies, in a safe place where you can access them easily.

Cash or Checkbook: You may need to pay for services or unexpected expenses on moving day, so make sure to have cash or a checkbook with you.

Electronics Chargers: Don't forget to pack chargers for your electronics, including your phone, tablet, and laptop.

In conclusion, moving day can be stressful, but having a checklist of essential items can help ensure a smooth and successful move. With these items in hand, you'll be well-prepared for whatever moving day brings.
