For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $351,600 in Texas for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $353,200 in June.

Hockley County had 22 new listings and 21 listings that went under contract in May, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 43—down 6.52% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in June.

Of those 43 active listings, 44.19% reduced their price in the month of May. The median listing price for homes in Hockley County fell 30.33% from April to May, bringing the current median listing price to $182,000. Based on projected data for June, listing prices may continue to fall.

The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract has been fairly steady year-over-year. In May 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 62 days, compared to 60 days in May 2024. However, in recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be falling. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this June.
