I started working with Yanis nearly two years ago, and I have finally just closed on the purchase of a duplex; this after considering, among other things, a house, then a duplex, then a house again, then a duplex again, and so on. In total, we visited eight properties and made four offers, two of which went all the way to inspection, before landing on the right one. What I take away most from this long search is his ability to stay present and relevant despite a process that was far from linear. He took the time to understand what I was looking for, even as my criteria evolved, and he always knew how to give me the information I needed so that I could make my own decisions, without ever trying to make them for me. His work also stood out particularly in the moments when a transaction required more judgment: showings, negotiations, inspections and the analysis of details that can easily escape a buyer. In the world of real estate brokers, it is sometimes hard to find your way. The level of advice and expertise varies widely. We went with Yanis because before him we had a heavily marketed agent (photo on the buses) who pushed us toward a sale and had no technical knowledge of buildings. With Yanis, we found a professional broker who always listens, is very responsive and does not try to push properties on you. He lets the client take the time to think it through.
