Market gauge is calculated using active listings and pending sales from the most recently available reporting period (May 2026).

Year-over-year, Stone County’s home values have been mostly flat, with the typical home value edging down about a third of a percent to around $199,000 in May. Listing prices, however, are down more noticeably from a year ago, falling nearly 15 percent, which can give buyers more room to shop. Compared with Arkansas overall, where prices are up a bit over 3 percent, Stone County is moving in a softer price direction.

Looking at the latest monthly snapshot, buyer activity has picked up, with homes sold rising more than 75 percent from a year ago and pending sales up about 35 percent. Inventory is still substantial at 125 active listings and about 6.8 months of supply, a level that lines up with its classification as a buyer’s market and is higher than the state’s 4.5 months of supply. Homes are taking time to sell with a median of 107 days on market, and only about 7 percent closing above list price, while the average sale-to-list ratio hovers just under 97 percent.

Over the past year, supply in Stone County has generally stayed elevated, even as sales counts have bounced around from month to month. This combination of steady listings and improving sales gives buyers choices and signals to sellers that thoughtful pricing and presentation matter. Agent Pronto can connect both buyers and sellers with an experienced local agent who understands these trends and can guide them through their next move.

Learn more about what Stone County has to offer.

Stone County offers residents a welcoming, close-knit community with convenient services, abundant outdoor recreation, and opportunities to connect, grow, and thrive.

Stone County stands apart from nearby foothill communities with its blend of Ozark music culture, rugged scenery, and a pace of life that still feels personal. Centered around Mountain View, the county draws people who value front-porch conversations, family gatherings, and a strong connection to the outdoors.

Music is a major part of local identity. The town square hosts informal jam sessions, supported by venues like the Ozark Folk Center State Park, which preserves traditional crafts and folk music. Residents and visitors head to Blanchard Springs Caverns for underground tours, hiking, and fishing on a national forest backdrop. Closer to home, spots such as Sylamore Creek and Mirror Lake offer quiet swimming and picnic areas that many locals treat as their weekend retreat.

Families look to Stone County for its small schools and community support, with resources like Mountain View School District and the Stone County Library anchoring daily life. Those who work remotely often find the mix of affordability and natural beauty compelling compared with larger hubs such as Conway or Batesville.

Whether you are preparing to list a longtime family home or hoping to secure a cabin before the next season of festivals, timing and preparation matter in this unique market. Agent Pronto connects both buyers and sellers with the right Stone County real estate professional to move confidently and efficiently.
