September’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $74,750—up 4.55% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $292,600 in Kansas for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $285,750 in October.

Greenwood County had 5 new listings and 7 listings that went under contract in September, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 14—down 26.32% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in October.

Of those 14 active listings, 35.71% reduced their price in the month of September. The median listing price for homes in Greenwood County fell 33.31% from August to September, bringing the current median listing price to $85,000. Based on projected data for October, listing prices may continue to fall.
