The typical home value in Brown County is projected to be $292,750 for the month of June. May’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $260,000—up 15.3% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $351,600 in Texas for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $353,200 in June.

Brown County had 62 new listings and 43 listings that went under contract in May, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 189—down 2.07% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in June.

Of those 189 active listings, 21.69% reduced their price in the month of May. The median listing price for homes in Brown County fell 28.57% from April to May, bringing the current median listing price to $225,000. Based on projected data for June, listing prices may continue to fall.

The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract has been fairly steady year-over-year. In May 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 45 days, compared to 45 days in May 2024. However, in recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be rising. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this June.
