Market gauge is calculated using active listings and pending sales from the most recently available reporting period (Jun 2026).

Year over year, Grant County’s housing market has become more active and more valuable. Typical home value is up a little over 8 percent from last June, and the median list price has climbed by a similar margin. Sales volume has jumped as well, with homes sold up nearly 32 percent compared with a year ago.

In the latest monthly snapshot for June 2026, typical home value sits around $238,000, while the median list price is just under that level at about $234,000. Inventory has expanded to 146 active listings, roughly 16 percent higher than a year earlier, but months of supply has dropped to 1.7, signaling tighter conditions than the statewide figure of 2.9 months.

Homes in Grant County are moving at a measured pace, with a median of 38 days on market and just over a quarter of June sales closing above the asking price. Pending sales are up nearly 65 percent from last year, suggesting solid buyer interest even as list prices have shifted month to month. Compared with Wisconsin overall, local prices are lower than the state median of about $359,000, which may draw budget-conscious buyers while still rewarding sellers with value gains. With these crosscurrents, both buyers and sellers can benefit from Agent Pronto’s help in finding the right local real estate agent to guide their next move.

Learn more about what Grant County has to offer.

Grant County offers residents a welcoming, close-knit community, abundant outdoor recreation, and practical opportunities for work, learning, and everyday life.

Grant County stands apart from nearby counties with its blend of historic river towns, university energy, and deeply rooted farm communities. From the bluffs along the Mississippi to the rolling countryside between Lancaster and Fennimore, residents value space, tradition, and practical amenities over flash.

In Platteville, the presence of the University of Wisconsin–Platteville shapes local life, supporting year round events, dining, and cultural opportunities. Families appreciate resources like the Platteville Public Library and community parks, while commuters find access to regional employers in nearby Dubuque. Along the river, Cassville offers a quieter pace near Nelson Dewey State Park with its scenic overlooks and trail network.

Smaller towns such as Boscobel and Cuba City provide classic main streets, local schools, and quick access to outdoor recreation on the Wisconsin River. Longtime residents often stay within the county when moving, trading farmsteads for town lots or upgrading to newer construction, while newcomers are drawn by attainable prices and a strong sense of community.

With inventory and interest rates shifting, timing and preparation matter more than ever. A knowledgeable local Agent Pronto partner can help buyers act quickly on well priced homes and guide sellers on pricing, presentation, and marketing so they are ready when the right opportunity appears. Agent Pronto is prepared to connect both buyers and sellers with the right Grant County expert.
