Houston had 4 new listings and 2 listings that went under contract in May, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 17—up 6.25% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in June.
Of those 17 active listings, 23.53% reduced their price in the month of May. The median listing price for homes in Houston fell 28.87% from April to May, bringing the current median listing price to $213,400. Based on projected data for June, listing prices may continue to fall.
Market gauge is calculated based on the the number of active listings divided by home sales over the most recently available reporting period.
