September’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $240,000—down 32.3% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $339,400 in Texas for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $336,150 in October.
Fayette County had 10 new listings and 11 listings that went under contract in September, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 102—down 7.27% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in October.
Of those 102 active listings, 48.04% reduced their price in the month of September. The median listing price for homes in Fayette County grew 21.71% from August to September, bringing the current median listing price to $412,000. Based on projected data for October, listing prices may continue to grow.
