December’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the city to be $203,000—down 18.8% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, county-level data pegged home values at $332,000 in Palo Pinto County for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $400,500 in January.

Mineral Wells had 11 new listings and 9 listings that went under contract in December, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 59—down 13.24% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in January.

Of those 59 active listings, 11.86% reduced their price in the month of December. The median listing price for homes in Mineral Wells fell 44.86% from November to December, bringing the current median listing price to $159,900. Based on projected data for January, listing prices may continue to fall.
