I recently inquired about a rental property listed by this landlord, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When I asked standard questions about the home—such as whether there were any known issues like leaks, pests, or other concerns—the landlord became defensive and accused me of being insulting.

Asking about the condition of a property is a basic and responsible part of the rental process. I expected transparency and professionalism, but instead was met with unnecessary hostility.

If this is the reaction to simple questions before signing a lease, I can only imagine what it would be like dealing with real issues as a tenant. I ultimately decided not to move forward and would encourage others to be cautious and ask all the questions you need—regardless of the response you get.
