About
About Sally Thornber
For thirty-five years, real estate has been more than a career for me — it's been the way I've learned how people live, what they hope for, and what it takes to get them there. Over that time, I've closed more than $450 million in transactions, and I've done it across nearly every corner of this business: first homes and luxury properties, raw land and entitlements, commercial investments, and ground-up development.
I built my reputation in California. Then, a few years ago, I did the thing so many of my clients were doing — I moved to Colorado myself.
That turned out to matter more than I expected. I know what it's like to sell a home in a market you understand completely and buy in one you don't. I know the questions Californians don't think to ask until they're already under contract — metro districts and how they show up on your tax bill, wildfire risk and what it does to insurance, wells and septic and water rights, how assessment here works nothing like Prop 13. I've been on both sides of that move, professionally and personally. There aren't many agents in Denver who can say the same.
My background runs deeper than brokerage. I spent a decade in financial management at Hewlett Packard before real estate, and I've developed land myself — taken a parcel through entitlements, financing, and sale. That's why I work with builders as well as families. When a deal gets complicated, I've usually seen the version of it that went sideways, and I know where the trouble tends to hide.
I'm also a published author. My work explores healing, resilience, and the long road back from hard things — subjects I came to honestly. It taught me something that carries directly into this work: most of the time, a house isn't really about the house. It's about a marriage ending, or a parent's estate, or a fresh start someone has been quietly working toward for years. People deserve to be met with patience in those moments, not a sales process.
What you can expect from me is straight information, including when it isn't what you were hoping to hear. I'd rather tell you a property is wrong for you than sell it to you. That approach has built a career largely on referrals and repeat clients, which is the only measure of this business I've ever really trusted.
I work throughout the Denver metro area, and I'm licensed in Colorado. If you're relocating from California, buying or selling here, or you're a builder looking for sales and marketing support, I'd welcome the conversation.
