Local values are roughly a third lower than the Alabama median, highlighting a more affordable option for buyers. At the same time, the median list price is up compared with last year, signaling that sellers are still aiming higher even as closed-sale prices soften.

Looking at the latest monthly snapshot for April 2026, homes typically sold for about $189,000, while the median list price hovered closer to $245,000. Months of supply has climbed to 6.8, well above Alabama’s 4.8 months, which points to more inventory and gives buyers more room to compare options.

New listings jumped sharply from March to April, yet the number of homes sold fell and closed sales are down compared with a year ago, showing slower follow-through. Even so, pending sales are up strongly year over year, suggesting more buyers are writing offers than at this time last year. Homes are also moving faster than a month ago, with median days on market dropping from 102 to 71, and a growing share are selling above list compared with last year.
