The typical home value in St. Louis is projected to be $229,500 for the month of May. April’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the city to be $233,000—down 0.85% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, county-level data pegged home values at $235,000 in City of St. Louis for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $235,500 in May.
St. Louis had 1,018 active listings in April, including 626 new listings. Overall, active listings were down 1.17% from the previous month.
Of those 1,018 active listings, 36.84% reduced their price in the month of April. The median listing price for homes in St. Louis grew 0.04% from March to April, bringing the current median listing price to $230,000. Based on projected data for May, listing prices may continue to grow.
The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract has been fairly steady year-over-year. In April 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 18 days, compared to 19 days in April 2024. However, in recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be rising. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this May.
