East End real estate Market Report.

Information and statistics on the latest trends in the East End real estate market, updated for April 2026. *

Inventory in East End has risen modestly to 595 homes for sale, up 3.66% from the prior month, even as it sits below Galveston’s wider supply of 892 listings. Buyers are seeing 329 new listings enter the market, but that flow is down 30.59% from last year, and pending sales have fallen 23.22%, signaling slower contract activity.

With homes taking a median of 148 days to go under contract and days on market up more than 72% year over year, properties are clearly spending much longer on the market. Even so, East End is still classified as a Seller's Market with a market gauge of 37, and only about 5.49% of recent sales closed above list price while the average sale-to-list ratio is around 92.7%.

Prices are edging down as the market adjusts, with a typical home value of about $310,600, 1.4% lower than a year ago and also below Galveston’s broader typical value of $345,000. Sellers are also reacting with list prices that have slipped to a $325,000 median, nearly 5.93% under last month, and projections show values and list prices softening slightly into March. In this shifting environment, both buyers and sellers can benefit from Agent Pronto’s help connecting with a local East End real estate agent who understands these trends and can guide their decisions.

Learn more about what East End has to offer.

East End offers residents a close-knit, walkable community with historic charm, easy access to parks and the shoreline, and a growing mix of local amenities that make everyday life convenient and inviting.

East End in Galveston combines historic character with everyday practicality. Centered around the East End Historical District, the neighborhood offers walkable streets, access to the waterfront, and a mix of classic homes and updated residences that appeal to year‑round residents and second‑home buyers alike.

Life here revolves around proximity. The Galveston Seawall and Stewart Beach are just minutes away for morning walks, fishing, or weekend gatherings. Nearby Downtown Galveston provides restaurants, galleries, and services, while the Galveston Trolley makes it easier to get to the Strand, the Seawall, and key employment centers without relying only on a car.

Families appreciate access to neighborhood schools such as Rosenberg Elementary and local parks and playgrounds that break up the dense grid of historic streets. Cultural and educational options, including the Galveston Railroad Museum and Galveston Public Library, add depth for residents who want more than just beach access.

Those relocating from other parts of Galveston or beyond often find that East End’s older housing stock can vary dramatically block to block. A local agent who understands issues like elevation, windstorm requirements, and preservation guidelines can clarify what you are really getting. Whether you are buying into East End or preparing to sell, Agent Pronto connects you with an experienced local real estate agent who can streamline decisions and reduce stress at every step.

“Angela was exceptionally instrumental in the entire process of this new home construction. From land purchase negotiation, locating a builder for our lot, being involved with the home construction process, and with closing; Angela stayed actively involved with the build and with explaining the next steps. This build could not have happened without her!”

“Esanet Benedict was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely knowledgable, super detail oriented, and you could tell she knew what she was doing/how experienced she is. Every house we'd look at, she'd be able to tell what was wrong with it and things to look out for. She's extremely accomodating and can work with your schedule, and she really does do her best to find you exactly what you're looking for- a house that will fit all your needs. She made the daunting process of house searching and buying smooth sailing. I'm a young buyer, so she made sure I was always informed about things I wouldn't have even thought about. She worked with us so well and not to mention, she is extremely sweet and friendly and had us laughing throughout the process. I've already recommended her to my brother and a friend who are also in the house buying process.”

“As a first time buyer, the process to buy a home can be very intimidating and at times overwhelming. However, Sinai and her team made the process as easy and as manageable as possible with reminders and due dates along the way so you always know what's coming up next. With Sinai's help I was able to find a place that I am so happy with. My only regret is not doing this sooner!”
