About Jeanna Rimmer
Have you heard the stories of people packing up everything and moving to Hawaii? Yes, I am one of those people. My family decided to move and within six months we had sold everything we owned in North Carolina and arrived on the Big Island in June 2014. In our first 60 days Hurricane Iselle hit the island and we were without power for over a week. Power was restored and the lava flow from Puʻu ʻŌʻō vent from Kīlauea Volcano changed direction and headed toward our beloved Pahoa town. Through it all, the community came together to care for each other creating a strong sense of belonging and connection for me.
I have discovered I enjoy white pineapple, wading in a warm tide pool, the sound of the coqui frogs, and nights on the lanai. I also have learned about catchment tanks, solar power, the value of a 4-wheel drive and the importance of multiple pairs of slippahs. Real estate has allowed me to share what I love about the affordable paradise of the of Hawaii Island.
