February’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $209,950—down 22.24% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $286,900 in Kansas for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $290,100 in March.

Jefferson County had 10 new listings and 5 listings that went under contract in February, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 34—up 25.93% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in March.

Of those 34 active listings, 41.18% reduced their price in the month of February. The median listing price for homes in Jefferson County grew 44.98% from January to February, bringing the current median listing price to $379,850. Based on projected data for March, listing prices may continue to grow.
