Year-over-year, LaPlace home values in this rolling three-month view are edging higher, with the typical home value up about 3 percent while the median list price shows a similar gain. At the same time, fewer homes are changing hands than a year ago, as homes sold are down nearly 10 percent and new listings are off about 12 percent, signaling softer overall activity.

In the latest period ending in May 2026, buyers are seeing a typical home value around $205,000 and a median list price near $226,000. Inventory is building modestly, with about 166 active listings and roughly 6.7 months of supply, which is much higher than a year ago and points to more options and a slower pace.
