December’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $229,500—up 19.53% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $357,900 in New Mexico for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $335,550 in January.
Luna County had 14 new listings and 9 listings that went under contract in December, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 71—up 1.43% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in January.
Of those 71 active listings, 14.08% reduced their price in the month of December. The median listing price for homes in Luna County grew 10.65% from November to December, bringing the current median listing price to $228,500. Based on projected data for January, listing prices may continue to grow.
The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract rose year-over-year. In December 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 16 days, compared to -18 days in December 2024. In recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be increasing. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this January.
