September’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $140,000—down 19.54% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $261,700 in Ohio for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $256,750 in October.
Gallia County had 17 new listings and 23 listings that went under contract in September, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 42—up 10.53% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in October.
Of those 42 active listings, 33.33% reduced their price in the month of September. The median listing price for homes in Gallia County grew 41.12% from August to September, bringing the current median listing price to $239,900. Based on projected data for October, listing prices may continue to grow.
The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract fell year-over-year. In September 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 86 days, compared to 100 days in September 2024. In recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be decreasing. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this October.
