Year-over-year, Holmes County’s typical home value has climbed sharply, up about 30 percent and now sitting above the Ohio state median. Homes here are also spending far less time on the market than a year ago, with median days on market dropping steeply to just 24 days.

Looking at May 2026 specifically, listing activity picked up as active listings rose to 52 and new listings jumped more than 40 percent from April. At the same time, closed sales fell significantly from last year, and months of supply has expanded to 5.4, giving buyers more options than in many parts of Ohio where supply is closer to 2.7 months.

Demand indicators show mixed signals, as pending sales are up more than 30 percent from the prior month but the number of homes sold has declined both month over month and year over year.
