September’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the city to be $268,500—up 7.44% over the previous 12 months. Hays had 24 new listings and 17 listings that went under contract in September, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 84—up 15.07% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in October.
Of those 84 active listings, 27.38% reduced their price in the month of September. The median listing price for homes in Hays grew 5.0% from August to September, bringing the current median listing price to $199,500. Based on projected data for October, listing prices may continue to grow.
The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract fell year-over-year.
