Market gauge is calculated using active listings and pending sales from the most recently available reporting period (May 2026).

Antrim County’s housing market has seen notable year-over-year shifts. Typical home values in May were up more than 13% from a year earlier, rising to about $376,000, well above the statewide median of roughly $294,000. Inventory also expanded over the past year, with months of supply climbing to 7.1, far higher than Michigan’s 2.9 months, signaling more options for shoppers.

Looking at the latest monthly data, activity picked up sharply heading into May. Pending sales jumped more than 84% from April and were up about 48% compared with last year, while new listings surged nearly 58% month over month. Homes are also moving more quickly, with the median days on market dropping from 68 in April to 50 in May, and down more than 78% compared with a year ago, even as active listings grew by about 32% from the prior month.

Pricing dynamics show a market that favors buyers on selection but still rewards well-positioned listings. The median list price in May was roughly $418,000, only slightly lower than a year ago, and the average sale-to-list ratio ticked up to about 96%, with nearly 12% of homes closing above asking. With 296 active listings and 36 homes sold in May, conditions differ from many parts of Michigan, so both buyers and sellers can benefit from Agent Pronto’s help connecting with a local agent who understands this evolving market.

Learn more about what Antrim County has to offer.

Antrim County offers residents a high quality of life with abundant outdoor recreation, tight-knit communities, strong local services, and a welcoming, collaborative spirit that makes everyday life comfortable and engaging.

Antrim County stands out from nearby resort destinations by feeling both quietly upscale and genuinely down to earth. Lakefront communities like Torch Lake, Elk Rapids, and Bellaire share the same stunning water and forest views as better known tourist spots, yet daily life still revolves around local schools, small businesses, and year round neighbors.

Outdoor recreation shapes the county’s identity. Residents boat and swim on Torch Lake, ski and ride at Shanty Creek Resort, and hike the Glacial Hills Pathway. Families rely on local resources such as Central Lake Public Schools and the Bellaire Public Library, while community events fill calendars in places like Elk Rapids and Bellaire.

Commuters appreciate access to larger job centers in Grand Traverse County and Charlevoix County, yet come home to quieter streets and strong neighborhood ties in villages like Central Lake and Mancelona. Seasonal visitors often become full time residents once they experience everyday life along the Chain of Lakes.

Because inventory, lake access rules, and short term rental regulations can shift quickly, timing and preparation matter for both sides of a transaction. Whether you are planning to list a waterfront cottage or hoping to secure a year round home before the next season starts, Agent Pronto can connect you with a knowledgeable Antrim County real estate professional who is ready to guide both buyers and sellers.
