Learn more about what Farmington has to offer.

Farmington offers residents a welcoming, family-friendly community with excellent schools, plentiful parks and trails, a vibrant downtown, and a strong sense of neighborhood pride.

Farmington pairs small-city ease with big-city access and a downtown designed for lingering. Historic storefronts give way to cafes, galleries, and the landmark Farmington Civic Theater, where first-run films glow beneath a 1940s marquee. At the center, Riley Park hosts summer concerts and a twinkling ice rink in winter, while Saturdays hum at the Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market at the Sundquist Pavilion. Heritage is close at hand: the Governor Warner Mansion & Museum shares the city’s story through gardens, exhibits, and community events. Services, parks, and year-round programming stay well organized by the City of Farmington.

Families appreciate strong academics through Farmington Public Schools, known for STEAM pathways, arts, and International Baccalaureate options. Shiawassee Park, with its playgrounds, trails, and River Rouge views, adds generous green space a short walk from downtown. Commuters value quick connections via M-5 to I-696 and I-275—putting employment hubs in Farmington Hills and cultural trips to Detroit within easy reach, all in the heart of Oakland County. Whether you’re moving for schools, walkability, or a full calendar of festivals, you’ll find a community that welcomes newcomers and rewards longtime residents alike.
