The typical home value in Iron County is projected to be $175,250 for the month of January. December’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $162,500—down 21.5% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $275,500 in Missouri for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $273,000 in January.
Iron County had 8 new listings and 15 listings that went under contract in December, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 38—down 17.39% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in January.
Of those 38 active listings, 5.26% reduced their price in the month of December. The median listing price for homes in Iron County fell 34.16% from November to December, bringing the current median listing price to $120,000. Based on projected data for January, listing prices may continue to fall.
The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract rose year-over-year. In December 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 79 days, compared to -53 days in December 2024. However, in recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be falling. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this January.
