Learn more about what Broome County has to offer.

Broome County offers residents a balanced blend of affordable living, strong schools and healthcare, ample outdoor and cultural opportunities, and a welcoming, tight-knit community.

Broome County blends college-town energy, river valley scenery, and approachable living in the heart of the Southern Tier. The metro’s core communities—Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott, and Vestal—offer tree-lined neighborhoods, classic brick architecture, and quick access to employers and parks. Residents take pride in a local legacy of innovation (Endicott is the birthplace of IBM), while the area’s two rivers shape miles of trails, boat launches, and green spaces.

Education shines here, anchored by Binghamton University, a nationally ranked public research institution that fuels arts, technology, and entrepreneurship. Family outings range from the planetarium, galleries, and historic mansion at the Roberson Museum and Science Center to wildlife encounters at the Ross Park Zoo. Outdoor lovers find year-round recreation at Chenango Valley State Park, with its lakes, swimming beach, and cross-country ski trails, and in the county’s famed carousel circuit—six hand-carved rides that spin all summer.

Strong public schools, a calendar of festivals (including spiedies and hot-air balloons), and a cost of living that stretches budgets make Broome County a smart place to put down roots or to right-size. Whether you’re searching for a Craftsman on a quiet block or a home close to campus, Agent Pronto can introduce buyers and sellers to trusted local real estate pros who know the market and how to make a move go smoothly.
