December’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $324,900—up 3.14% over the previous 12 months. McDowell County had 24 new listings and 30 listings that went under contract in December, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 190—down 12.04% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in January.
Of those 190 active listings, 17.37% reduced their price in the month of December. The median listing price for homes in McDowell County grew 2.84% from November to December, bringing the current median listing price to $359,950. Based on projected data for January, listing prices may continue to grow.
