May’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $188,000—up 45.74% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $245,900 in West Virginia for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $248,450 in June.

Lewis County had 10 new listings and 9 listings that went under contract in May, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 24—down 27.27% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in June.

Of those 24 active listings, 25.0% reduced their price in the month of May. The median listing price for homes in Lewis County fell 10.6% from April to May, bringing the current median listing price to $187,750. Based on projected data for June, listing prices may continue to fall.

The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract fell year-over-year. In May 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 85 days, compared to 121 days in May 2024. However, in recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be rising. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this June.
