September’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $290,000—down 16.67% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $247,400 in Iowa for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $245,150 in October.
Winneshiek County had 19 new listings and 18 listings that went under contract in September, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 48—down 0.0% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in October.
Of those 48 active listings, 39.58% reduced their price in the month of September. The median listing price for homes in Winneshiek County grew 3.21% from August to September, bringing the current median listing price to $289,000. Based on projected data for October, listing prices may continue to grow.
