Year over year, Alcona County’s typical home value has climbed sharply, rising more than 29 percent to about $264,000 in August 2026 even as Michigan as a whole saw a much smaller gain. At the same time, homes sold dropped by roughly a third compared with last year, signaling fewer closed deals despite higher prices.
In the latest monthly snapshot, listing activity has expanded, with active listings up nearly 39 percent from a year ago and new listings more than 23 percent higher. Homes are still moving at a moderate pace, with the median days on market edging down about 11 percent year over year to 42 days and just under 29 percent of properties going off market within two weeks.
