Over the past year, Jersey City’s housing numbers have softened even as nearby Hudson County has seen gains. Typical home values are down about 2.4% year over year to roughly $697,625, while the county as a whole is up about 5.5% to $725,000.
In March 2026, buyers saw more options, with inventory rising to about 625 homes, up a little over 6% from the prior month, though still down more than 19% from a year ago. Homes spent a median of 61 days on the market, about 24% longer than last year, and roughly 25% of sales still closed above the list price with an average sale-to-list ratio near 0.99.
Looking ahead to April 2026, values and asking prices are expected to ease slightly, with a projected typical home value around $646,437 and a projected median list price near $737,500 as inventory edges up to about 643 listings.
