The typical home value in Barnes County is projected to be $285,250 for the month of December. November’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $260,000—up 55.27% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $304,600 in North Dakota for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $304,350 in December.
Barnes County had 7 new listings and 3 listings that went under contract in November, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 30—down 3.23% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in December.
Of those 30 active listings, 13.33% reduced their price in the month of November. The median listing price for homes in Barnes County grew 9.17% from October to November, bringing the current median listing price to $250,000. Based on projected data for December, listing prices may continue to grow.
The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract has been fairly steady year-over-year. In November 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 27 days, compared to 28 days in November 2024. However, in recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be rising. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this December.
