I suspect most homes these days are purchased the same way. I think it's probably rare to find a realtor that actually actively seeks our homes and contacts you with possibilities. However, if you have special requests - like enough land to build a shop, or if the deed restrictions allow an outbuilding - it is our experience that realtors don't know the answers to those questions and usually can't help you find the answers.
