Mike is a southern boy at heart with deep family roots in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee, where he was raised. That southern drawl still surfaces every now and then, along with his "Mikeisms," which his team gets a kick out of. He played minor league baseball, then spent eight years serving our country in the Army, the last three years as a Finance Officer. After the Army (in the '80s), Mike found himself in Medical Sales Management and, at one point, was transferred to Idaho Falls with his wife, Dee. They decided to plant roots here, so he left medical sales in 1988 and got his real estate license rather than going to work as an accountant. He quickly realized that his passion for building lasting relationships fit well in the real estate industry, and he rapidly rose to the top, becoming the #1 agent in the local area for many years. In his 38 years, he has helped over 5,000 families buy and sell homes—that's a lot of experience! If you ask Mike how he achieved so much success in the industry, he will tell you it is unquestionably because he truly cares about the relationship with the client above all else. That is evident in the fact that 99% of his business is repeat and referral based. Mike has been in Gary Keller’s Top 100 for many years and is known across the country for “The Promise,” born from his passion for building such great relationships with his clients that they want to refer friends and family to him. Mike and his team at Anderson Hicks Group are #1 in Southeast Idaho, having helped over 2,000 families over the past four years with their real estate needs. When Mike is not working, he loves spending time with his wife of 42 years, their two children, and two grandchildren. Also ranking right up there is working the 12 acres they live on, plus extensive time in the winter months building self-designed woodworking projects in his woodshop.
