Home values in DuPage County are up compared with last year, with the typical home value rising about 7.5 percent. Listing prices have climbed as well, increasing nearly 7 percent year over year. Inventory has also grown modestly, with active listings up around 6 percent from a year ago.

In May 2026, the typical home value stood at about $456,900 and the median list price was close to $469,800. Homes are selling faster than last year, with the median days on market dropping to 42 days, down nearly one-third year over year.

Supply conditions still favor sellers, with only 2.7 months of inventory in May and the area identified as a seller’s market. More than half of recent sales closed above the asking price, and the average sale-to-list ratio was just over 101 percent, signaling firm pricing power for many sellers. At the same time, buyers are seeing more choices, as active listings rose nearly 11 percent just since April and new listings increased about 5 percent over the month.
