December’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $337,000—up 0.6% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $383,900 in North Carolina for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $381,550 in January.
Harnett County had 172 new listings and 222 listings that went under contract in December, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 1,023—down 11.27% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in January.
Of those 1,023 active listings, 24.93% reduced their price in the month of December. The median listing price for homes in Harnett County fell 1.35% from November to December, bringing the current median listing price to $339,800. Based on projected data for January, listing prices may continue to fall.
The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract fell year-over-year. In December 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 95 days, compared to 128 days in December 2024. In recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be decreasing. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this January.
