December’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the city to be $145,000—down 31.6% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, county-level data pegged home values at $148,320 in Jackson County for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $130,730 in January.
Altus had 11 new listings and 16 listings that went under contract in December, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 74—down 15.91% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in January.
Of those 74 active listings, 13.51% reduced their price in the month of December. The median listing price for homes in Altus fell 10.76% from November to December, bringing the current median listing price to $195,000. Based on projected data for January, listing prices may continue to fall.

In December 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 127 days, compared to 223 days in December 2024.
