September’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $428,950—up 14.39% over the previous 12 months. Jefferson County had 8 new listings and 12 listings that went under contract in September, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 54—down 10.0% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in October.
Of those 54 active listings, 20.37% reduced their price in the month of September. The median listing price for homes in Jefferson County fell 37.55% from August to September, bringing the current median listing price to $296,000. Based on projected data for October, listing prices may continue to fall.
