October’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the city to be $700,000—down 6.04% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, county-level data pegged home values at $732,250 in Norfolk County for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $753,380 in November.
Quincy had 90 new listings and 91 listings that went under contract in October, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 124—down 6.77% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in November.
Of those 124 active listings, 36.29% reduced their price in the month of October. The median listing price for homes in Quincy fell 1.72% from September to October, bringing the current median listing price to $687,000. Based on projected data for November, listing prices may continue to fall.
