December’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the city to be $168,500—down 6.34% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, county-level data pegged home values at $290,000 in York County for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $285,000 in January.
West York had 4 new listings and 9 listings that went under contract in December, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 13—down 18.75% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in January.
Of those 13 active listings, 30.77% reduced their price in the month of December. The median listing price for homes in West York grew 28.08% from November to December, bringing the current median listing price to $216,450. Based on projected data for January, listing prices may continue to grow.
