November’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $239,700—down 12.8% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $269,300 in Indiana for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $267,550 in December.
Newton County had 8 new listings and 19 listings that went under contract in November, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 40—down 20.0% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in December.
Of those 40 active listings, 52.5% reduced their price in the month of November. The median listing price for homes in Newton County fell 3.97% from October to November, bringing the current median listing price to $219,900. Based on projected data for December, listing prices may continue to fall.
The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract fell sharply year-over-year. In November 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 37 days, compared to 48 days in November 2024.
