The typical home value in Bertie County is projected to be $197,500 for the month of November. October’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $165,000—down 1.4% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $387,200 in North Carolina for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $391,100 in November.

Bertie County had 9 new listings and 8 listings that went under contract in October, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 36—up 5.88% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in November.

Of those 36 active listings, 25.0% reduced their price in the month of October. The median listing price for homes in Bertie County fell 22.54% from September to October, bringing the current median listing price to $149,500. Based on projected data for November, listing prices may continue to fall.

The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract rose year-over-year. In October 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 9 days, compared to -15 days in October 2024.
