Northampton County is seeing a slower sales pace with only 3 homes sold in August, down sharply from a year ago. Inventory has edged up to 51 active listings, and months of supply has jumped to 12.5, far above the 4.6 months seen across North Carolina. Buyer activity is mixed, with pending sales more than doubling from July but still trailing last year.

The typical home value is about $199,000, up more than 11 percent year over year even as the median list price has fallen more than 30 percent over the same period.
