October’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the city to be $193,950—down 18.85% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, county-level data pegged home values at $249,900 in Greenwood County for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $239,850 in November.
Greenwood had 37 new listings and 30 listings that went under contract in October, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 95—up 6.74% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in November.
Of those 95 active listings, 29.47% reduced their price in the month of October. The median listing price for homes in Greenwood grew 8.2% from September to October, bringing the current median listing price to $244,000. Based on projected data for November, listing prices may continue to grow.
