October’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the city to be $296,000—up 7.64% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, county-level data pegged home values at $302,000 in Walker County for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $317,000 in November.
Huntsville had 27 new listings and 31 listings that went under contract in October, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 136—down 10.53% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in November.
Of those 136 active listings, 38.24% reduced their price in the month of October. The median listing price for homes in Huntsville grew 4.31% from September to October, bringing the current median listing price to $339,000. Based on projected data for November, listing prices may continue to grow.
