December’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $363,000—down 10.59% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $793,600 in California for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $776,450 in January.
Del Norte County had 21 new listings and 12 listings that went under contract in December, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 97—up 3.19% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in January.
Of those 97 active listings, 15.46% reduced their price in the month of December. The median listing price for homes in Del Norte County fell 6.5% from November to December, bringing the current median listing price to $345,000. Based on projected data for January, listing prices may continue to fall.
The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract rose year-over-year. In December 2025, the median time for a listed property to go pending was 86 days, compared to 70 days in December 2024. In recent months the median number of days from listed to pending appears to be increasing. That trend is predicted to have carried through to this January.
