September’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the county to be $280,000—down 1.75% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, state-level data pegged home values at $382,600 in South Carolina for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $378,750 in October.
Spartanburg County had 665 new listings and 598 listings that went under contract in September, decreasing the area’s total available inventory to 2,175—down 6.33% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further decreased in October.
Of those 2,175 active listings, 34.85% reduced their price in the month of September. The median listing price for homes in Spartanburg County grew 2.06% from August to September, bringing the current median listing price to $294,950. Based on projected data for October, listing prices may continue to grow.
