Learn more about what Ocean Park has to offer.

Ocean Park offers residents a vibrant coastal community with beautiful beaches, recreational activities, and a welcoming atmosphere that fosters a strong sense of neighborhood pride.

Ocean Park delivers easygoing, bayfront living on the north end of Virginia Beach, where salt air and pine forests meet the Chesapeake. Residents step into nature on the Cape Henry Trail at First Landing State Park, launch kayaks into the Lynnhaven, and wander the sandy shoreline that feels worlds away from the Oceanfront. Nearby Pleasure House Point, anchored by the award-winning Brock Environmental Center, adds miles of quiet paths and birding at the Pleasure House Point Natural Area.

Weekends might include a lighthouse climb at the historic Cape Henry Lighthouse or a scenic drive over the engineering marvel of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. Shore Drive’s local haunts serve up seafood and sunsets, while neighboring Chesapeake Beach (locals call it Chic’s Beach) brings a barefoot, surf-ski vibe. Commuters appreciate quick access to Norfolk and Chesapeake for major employers, the arts, and nightlife.

Families value the strong footing in Virginia Beach City Public Schools and an active outdoor lifestyle—think paddleboards on porches, bikes in the driveway, and impromptu beach meetups at dusk. Housing ranges from classic beach cottages and mid-century ranches to crisp new construction with rooftop decks designed for bay breezes. Ocean Park’s community character is warm and unpretentious, with neighborhood gatherings, conservation-minded residents, and everyday conveniences close at hand.
